Thorn- perspective

As I write today, I was frustrated with an outcome that I wanted to know about. God definately refines one by our reactions to situations. I'm reminded that Paul had a thorn that he asked to be removed, but the LORD said My grace is sufficient for you. I'm reminded in my responses that I can be very selfish- yuck. Jesus, You do encourage me- He went to cross so not deserving, and He asked the Father if He would remove the cup from Him, meaning that He wouldn't have to endure the ardous painful event ahead of Him. The Father has the ultimate decision, and because He may not answer the way we want, He has an eternal view- just as He did for His Son, that an outward observation may not understand, but an eternal view that was made out of love. Jesus knows how we feel, I'm so thankful for Him. We don't have to grow weary or lose heart- we can consider Him who endured such evil opposition from men that we may not grow weary or lose heart. So when I think of Jesus my situation is so small, so, so small, but yet He knows and cares for me, even when the outcomes don't come out the way I hoped, the eternal is still assured.
