Contrasts
I've meaning meaning to post this post a couple of weeks ago! First I must say, "Go Bucks". It was great to see them play well and throw the football so great in Texas- plus a night game. Those always seem so tough for the Bucks!! The week before I got to see the Bucks in action against Northern Illinois. Initially I was a little bummed- I had initially thought I would be seeing Penn State, but for some reason too many tickets were given out and I got this game instead. Hey- it was the alumni game, so that's always neat. Walking there the rain, or more like a thick drizzle was coming down. Wearing my poncho, I was ready to endure the rain, but thankfully the rain subsided when the game started and stayed away the rest of the game! We started off like a firecracker- lots of pizzaz initially and then lost some steam. Seated with my fellow avid Buckeye rooter, Mitsu, we cheered them on. Then near the end of the game, the sky in the east turned so dark and in the west the light of the sun was just pouring out. Later that week at home, the same scenario- so dark in the east and yet in the west the sun was setting with a pretty pink and fuschia glow. When I see those contrasts, I am reminded of the reality that there is a spiritual battle going on in the world. There is the ultimate good of the LORD and the evil forces of Satan. Light and dark. When thinking of this, I was moved to pray- pray for those struggling with darkness that they would be drawn to the light- just as bugs are drawn to the light, just like when watching a movie with the good guy and bad guy, how we root that the good guy would win in the end. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm." Ephesians 6:12-13. For more in depthness of the armor of God check out the rest of Ephesians 6.
