Lately I've been thinking about the body- how intricately designed our bodies are. Today I had the day off for Veteran's Day- thank you Veteran's, and so one of the places I went was to the optometrist. I have not been in 8 years! But, as I was driving I took notice of all of these doctor offices along the way- eye doctors, stomach doctors, heart doctors. I thought about how in the body of Christ- we have our own sicknesses- when the body (us in Christ) is not effectively working how the whole body is affected (If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. 1 Cor 12:6) I was thinking about this as I was getting out of my car. Last year I participated in a three legged race and wrapped my arm around this man who was taller than I; well, he went one way and I went the other way and pop went my shoulder. That was a part of the body that wasn't performing what it was meant to do, and I had overextended this part of the body. I still feel it today. The good news- is there is hope. Our hope is in Jesus- the Great Physician- He supernaturally heals- by His stripes we are healed. When we inquire of Him, we can see where we fit in the body. I'm thankful that sickness was not part of the original plan. Oh Lord- we need Your healing touch, bring restoration to both our bodies and Your body in You Jesus. I love that Jesus is the head- as we think of our own heads- our brains send out the signals that healing needs to take place. Jesus does that for us- let's be connected properly to the Head- Jesus and rejoice for the body that is unified, properly functioning.
