Pieces that Fit

One of the items that I use to assess little ones fine motor abilities is the formboard, pictured above. Today as I assessed this little girl- she grasped onto the circle and was trying so hard to fit it into the triangular piece. As she pushed with all her might, the LORD was showing me the parallels how we (myself) try to push things into place that really shouldn't be there. She got so frustrated that this piece wouldn't fit. Even when I gave her cues by tapping on the correct slot, she was still bound and determined to make that piece fit. Again I thought of how frustrated we get when we try to make things go our way, but our gentle Lord is trying to tap us, trying to lead us. Will we heed His advice and get the perfect fit?

Ode to Jules

OK- you might be wondering- why does Lynnster have a picture of a toothbrush when comprising an ode to Jules, you'll find out if you decide to stick to reading my blog. Since my dear friend Julie has been sick and could not visit me tonight I have declared an ode. Thought you might enjoy:
Jules- fashioned by the LORD making her debut in 78, she wouldn't come into my life until 98. Going to Ohio State, then going on to be a missionary with a mandate. Across the sea she would go ending up in Michigan, what a woe. (Not really- had to put that since she is at U of M and not OSU; man did I mess up the rhtyhm here?). She loves the LORD and the Word of God, as I'm sure all her friends would nod. She is precious and sweet although she opts not to live in the heat. What a friend Jules is- she always makes sure to call and will often visit. My couch knows her well and as you can see her toothbrush has a home with me, waiting for her to come again. You may hear her toothbrush singing, "Oh where is my Julie, Oh where is my Julie, Oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, ohhh whhheeerrree, is my Julie!"

Getting back into the blogging habit

I love three day weekends. This weekend has been enjoyable. Last night there was a group of us that got together to hang out. My friend was driving and it just makes me smile when there is new love in the air. I love the newness that it brings- when the person talks about the other person and just glows. When they think of each other in thoughtful ways- the enjoyment of getting to know someone new. That's how I want to be with Jesus- God in His infinancy always has newness. I can always be learning something new about Him- to continuing to love Him more and not lose that newness that there is in Christ. Holy Spirit, help me to continue to love You more everyday. Amen.
